Understanding monitoring

Hello,

I want to understand better what SLS does offer and what is the logic behind this photo:

So the screenshot that I took shows monitoring for: free/team/enterprise.
What is data retention? If I have an aws api gw → lambda → cloudwatch is it related to the retention of cloudwatch logs for ApiGW or Lambda?
And what are: Included monthly monitoring events?
