I’m new to using serverless and API’s looking for some insight on how it would be done! Any help would be appreciated! My aim would be to create a function that sends data to an API every hour.

This whole thread is quite misleading. The right conclusion, which is also the one supported by the article you post, is: FaaS is not suited for all types of Kodi nox applications.
